The safety review of the intersection includes a series of engagement activities with local residents.

Phase 1: Safety Review

Purpose: Identify and confirm key concerns to inform the evaluation of the intersection

October – December 2020

• Small in-person and virtual meetings with local residents who had previously raised concerns with the City of New Westminster to review and confirm their issues.
• One virtual Public Meeting with residents living in close proximity to the intersection to listen to and capture concerns.

Outcome: Feedback received from these meetings will be summarized and provided to the transportation engineering consultant to inform the safety review.

Phase 2: Draft Intersection Design

Purpose: Present the draft intersection design layout and listen to feedback

January 2021

• One virtual Public Meeting with residents living in close proximity to the intersection to review a draft design layout of the intersection and listen to feedback.

Outcome: The engineering consultant will consider feedback and submit their recommended draft intersection design layout and any additional recommendations to the City of New Westminster.
