Close portions of Ash Street and McInnes Street to expand park space
From "Simcoe Park and Toronto Place Park Master Plan Ideas Board"
Go to the project
Brow of the Hill needs more park space. Land is expensive, it isn't always realistic for the city to purchase lots for park expansions. A solution: close portions of Ash Street and McInnes Streets beside these parks to enlarge them. Also consider purchasing the land assembly at 10th St and Queens.

With a new school planned and with plans to rezone most of the Brow-of-the-Hill neighbourhood for 8-story highrises, more park space is needed. Basically there will be two schools with insufficient field and play space sandwiched against a park trying to serve a large number of purposes.

Buying the land assembly does seem an interesting idea.

I think this is something worth considering.

That parcel of land at Tenth Street and Queens would also be a better location for the school. Too bad the ministry of ed hasn't purchased it!
