I personally think that keeping it a grass field would better suit the vibe of the park, as grass is more inviting to users not specifically playing an organized sport. However changing it to anything but artificial turf would be a downgrade in everyone's eyes.

      Like all plants, grass brings down the temperature in hotter months. Simcoe Park is full of residents cooling off in the summer under the shade of the big trees.
