Take the $$ earmarked to repair the field and work with New West soccer & New West Field Lacrosse & other community groups to contribute thru grants to build a synthetic field. Less maintenance costs in long run & year round usage.

Wrong new synthetics fields don't have harmful chemicals(unlike some fertilizers). The current grass field obviously has issues since it needs to be closed part of the year

Artificial turf leaches chemicals. That field will be right next to a toddler water play area which is going to be a huge health concern. The community garden is also downhill where people grow vegetables that they eat.
