Boyd Street Corridor Improvements

Project Update, July 2025:

Construction of this route is set to begin in August 2025. For construction information and updates, visit this page on the City's main website.

The Boyd Street corridor in Queensborough is 1.5 km. The proposed improvements will upgrade the existing multi-use pathway (for walking, cycling and rolling) between Howes Street and the Queensborough Bridge. The multi-use pathway will make it safer and easier to access commercial services and retail stores from residential areas to the southeast. Boyd Street is part of TransLink’s Major Bikeway Network, which connects the region for active transportation users.

The intersection of Boyd and Howes streets has been identified as one of the City’s top safety concerns for people on foot and bike. The proposed improvements will remove right turn traffic islands on the north side of Howes Street to provide a safer roadway crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.
